They also learned how to make fun of themselves first for two reasons:
1. It is the safest person to make fun of in this day and age especially where everyone is so sensitive. It is hard to offend yourself:).
2. When you point out first the things your adversaries want to use against you or make fun of you about, you take away their power to do so.
